Der ZVEI ist ein Branchenverband der deutschen Elektro- und Digitallindustrie. Sie ist einer der innovativsten Wirtschaftszweige in Deutschland. Ein Fünftel des Branchenumsatzes entfällt auf Produktneuheiten. Jede dritte Neuerung im Verarbeitenden Gewerbe insgesamt erfährt hier ihren originären Anstoß. Fast ein Viertel aller F+E-Aufwendungen des Verarbeitenden Gewerbes in Deutschland kommt von der Elektro- und Digitalindustrie. Jährlich wendet die Branche rund 14 Milliarden Euro für F+E auf und mehr als neun Milliarden Euro für Investitionen. Ende 2025 beschäftigte die Branche rund 873.000 Arbeitnehmerinnen und Arbeitnehmer im Inland. Der Umsatz lag 2025 bei 225 Milliarden Euro.

Sebastian  ist seit März 2019 Geschäftsführer des ZVEI-Fachverband Kabel und isolierte Drähte. Im ZVEI ist er bereits seit 2014 tätig, zunächst im Bereich Energie und im Bereich Sicherheit (Cybersecurity). Seit 2015 ist er im Fachverband für die Kabelindustrie aktiv und war von Beginn an für politische Lobbyarbeit zuständig. Vor seiner Verbandslaufbahn arbeitet Glatz als freiberuflicher IT-Administrator für Verbände und kleine Firmen. Er hat Politische Wissenschaft, neuere Geschichte und Völkerrecht studiert.

Christian specialises in M&A, corporate restructuring and joint ventures, with a particular focus on transactions and investments in the infrastructure and energy sectors. Recent transactions include strategic M&A deals in the infrastructure and energy sectors, such as the development, financing, acquisition or disposal of renewables projects and digital infrastructure projects (fibre optic, data centres and mobile broadband tower infrastructure) as well as national and cross-border joint ventures, restructurings and general corporate law advice. Christian’s clients include investors, project developers, telecoms companies, public utilities and banks.

Rebecca specialises in telecommunications law, with a particular focus on digital infrastructure projects. She provides comprehensive advice on fibre, mobile and data centre expansion projects, both with and without subsidy backgrounds. She also addresses interface issues between the energy and telecommunications sectors, such as smart cities, smart grids, smart metering and IT security issues for critical infrastructures. Her clients include investors, network operators, telecom and energy companies, service providers, project developers and public utilities.

Workshop Inhalt:

Die nächste Welle der Digitalisierung wird nicht nur durch Kapital und Technologie bestimmt, sondern zunehmend durch die Verfügbarkeit von Energie und Infrastruktur. Während Investoren und Betreiber europaweit Milliarden in neue KI- und Rechenzentrumskapazitäten investieren, geraten Netzanschlüsse, Stromversorgung, Standortflächen und regulatorische Anforderungen immer stärker in den Fokus.

Der Workshop verbindet die Perspektiven von Investoren, Projektentwicklern und Infrastrukturakteuren und zeigt auf, welche Faktoren künftig über die Realisierung neuer Data-Center-Projekte entscheiden. Anhand aktueller Markt- und Projektentwicklungen diskutieren wir, wo die größten Engpässe liegen, welche regulatorischen Herausforderungen überwunden werden müssen und wie Deutschland seine Position als wettbewerbsfähiger Data-Center-Standort sichern kann.

Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, wie Investitionen, Energieversorgung und Infrastrukturplanung künftig besser zusammengedacht werden können, damit die digitale Transformation nicht an physischen Grenzen scheitert
